Founded by Andrea Page in Toronto Ontario Canada FITMOM has developed a reputation for being a challenging, safe and effective program for one of the most important times in a womans life. Motherhood. During pregnancy the health of the mother and baby are magnified through exercise, proper nutrition and reducing stress. Until recently pregnancy and postpartum exercise was thought of as dangerous and potentially harming one's baby. However study by the ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynocologists) has changed that. Coupled with the research from reknowned OB/GYN specialst Dr. James Clapp III, science has proven that being active throughout pregnancy and in even postpartum can have lasting positive effects on your baby. Prenatal exercise can come in many forms and be beneficial. Low impact prenatal aerobics can be done postnatally for cardio. Prenatal and postnatal weight training can be used to develop strong muscles and joints. Pilates can be done while pregnant or postnatal for long lean muscles and stretching as well. Prenatal pilates also has the added benefit of being very low impact and a safe way to transition throughout your pregnancy. Prenatal yoga and postnatal yoga are also quite beneficial for learning breathing and stretching techniques.
FITMOM'S program rests on a combination of resistance training and aerobic exercise. Although that is its core program it encompasses so much more than that as well. Postpartum wellness and nutrition. Prenatal couples yoga and so many more activities for new and expectant mothers. Our range of offerings has grown so much over the last 5 years that we are now branching out and creating licensed/ franchise operations for mom's who want to bring FITMOM to their own community. POSTNATAL CLASSES

+ BABY™ (Babies 6 wks-18 mths) All FITMOM + Baby™ classes include exercises to target all the major muscle groups. Each class includes
Each class concludes with a baby activity that changes weekly. In the course of the session participants will be able to address concerns about postnatal fitness and will receive handouts on relative topics for their interest. The FITMOM + Baby™ class addresses the guilt new moms often feel
when leaving their babies to do something for themselves. Babies can participate
at all times and enjoy this class as much as you will. FITMOM™ mom
and baby classes are a great way to meet other new moms, get in shape,
feel more energized and most importantly have fun while bonding with your
baby. FITPARENT
AND TODDLER (18 mths - 3 1/2) This class is a spin off of the Mom and Baby class. Your active toddlers are involved from beginning to end. Moms are instructed through the exercise program while toddlers are prompted to mimic body movements with fun analogies of animals and familiar objects that are designed to stimulate and entertain them. Moms and toddlers will bond with interactive activities that sometimes have mom being a jungle gym, while performing exercises that will help mom strengthen various muscle groups. Needless to say this class is a riot!!!! Your toddler will inevitably have fun while getting both you in shape! As with other postnatal classes this class will conclude with a fun activity for you toddler. THIS CLASS WELCOMES FATHERS AND CAREGIVERS TO COME JOIN IN THE FUN AND DERIVE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF THIS VERY ACTIVE CLASS.
